Press-in-Place Seals

Press-in-Place seals are typically an all rubber molded component assembled into a channel that forms a seal between mechanical components. The channel geometry can be varied but many times is machined with a dovetail shape for seal retention. These seals are forgiving in handling and able to withstand high pressures with relatively rough surfaces to be sealed.

Key Requirements
  • Seal at temperatures between -40° and 250° C
  • Compatible with engine lubricants and coolant fluids
  • Ease of installation
  • Proper fit
  • Seal retention

  • Trostel Provides
  • Materials expertise
  • Ability to mold complex geometries
  • Understanding of how seal geometry, channel width and surface finish impact seal installation and retention
  • Manufacturing technology that is flexible relative to the location of split lines, flash extensions and gates
